West Ham vice chairman Karren Brady insists London stadium move has been "well received"

The Hammers have won just one Premier League match in their new home with matches dogged by crowd trouble

Karren Brady claims West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium has been “well received.”

The Hammers have won just one Premier League match in their new home since they relocated from Upton Park.

Home games have also been dogged by West Ham fans fighting each other and rival fans, not sitting down, not having seats and also stewarding issues.

A section of supporters chanted “Stratford's a s***hole, I want to go home” during their 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

But, speaking at the Leaders 2016 conference at Stamford Bridge, vice chairman Brady painted a more positive picture about the controversial move and argued: “As a board my two chairman made a decision that because there is so much money in football now coming through the broadcasting revenues that we should use that money to make football affordable.

“So here we have this great stadium in London, much better prospects, facilities, travel links, everything, than our old stadium but we charge a lower price.

“So we offer them more dynamic product at an inferior price which is quite dynamic and it has been so well received.

“Rebranding ourselves was really important with the new stadium. We are in the London Stadium and we added the word London to our crest because we thought it had real global appeal.

“Nobody else does it and that's exact;y where we are. We are in the heart of London, in the foothills of the financial centre.

“We have the best stadium. There are some great stadiums in this country but there is only one Olympic stadium and it's ours and branded ours and it has really had a dynamic impact on the things that we can do.”

Premier League in danger as Brexit 'threatens 200 players' warns West Ham chief Karren Brady

The West Ham vice-chairman believes standards in England's top flight could be set to drop as players struggle for work permits if Britain leaves the EU

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has warned something must be done to maintain standards in the Premier League where “two-thirds” of players may struggle to get work permits if Britain leaves the European Union.

With Theresa May worryingly hellbent on the notion that “ Brexit means Brexit” and planning on triggering the United Kingdom’s exit from the EU, Brady warned that something must be done to keep the league competitive in the face of visa struggles for foreign footballers.

“We have to accept we are leaving the European Union and that is that,” said Brady, who is also a Tory baroness.

“There are around 200 players that it affects [in the league at the moment]… and that is a worry.”

Brady did suggest, however, that the Premier League could benefit from some exemptions in the negotiations over Brexit , adding “the government is aware that the league is one of our greatest exports. We must see what can be done."

The West Ham vice chairman was speaking at the Leaders in Sport conference, where she also emphasised Slaven Bilic’s importance to the east London side.

“The most important person in any football club is the manager,” she said.

“They dictate the culture and are responsible for results on the field so everything comes from them or through them really.”

Other than QPR who only just dropped it for this season with a change of club crest.

I can't stand this prat. I hate her and the masters she serves.

"Well received"

By who other than Dicksie? Who's like the plumb at the back of class when you were a kid dribbling over crayons!

"dynamic product at an inferior price which is quite dynamic"... what the FUCK does that actually mean??

And, agree, Stranded: nice set-up for BIlic to be the scapegoat for all woes, even though Sullivan calls his role akin to being a Director Of Football.

Wish all 3 would shut up, frankly. When it comes to English owners, even Mike Ashley's probably less grating.

I just don't see how the word "London" on the badge gives us global appeal. Happy to be enlightened.

Sorry I'm obviously being a bit thick so how does having "London" on the badge etc "actually" give us global appeal.

Yes it has had such a dynamic impact that we're in a relegation battle.

Re: Brady on rebranding etc
Brady's problem is that she still can't get her head around the fact that most of the core West Ham support are not cheeky chappie cockneys in the style of Dick van Dyke, but have had a life of FUCKING HARD GRAFT just to get to where they are now.

We scorn condescension, charity and classification. We just are. We help our own and tell it like it is.

Changing the business culture within the club is part of her remit. Defining East End Cockneys is not.

Keep seeing her described as West Ham Chief.

Would have better for everyone if she had just been the fucking West Ham chef.

Re: Brady on rebranding etc
Don't you rebrand a product when it is failing in a bid to attract business from your competitors?

Has no one told Brady that rebranding a football club isn't the same - you won't steal supporters from other teams, only hopefully attract younger, undecided Ines who aren't gonna give a shit if your badge has London on it but may have liked it more with a castle than just two stick thin mallets

Sadly not in this context

She is attempting to reposition the club as the primary 'London' location for watching soccer.

This involves a shift not only physically but also within the demographic and mindset of it's customers toward a broader consumer base of merchandise, catering and an within a stadium styled to attract event goers who can observe a sporting occasion.

The end game of which is to optimise the match day income and create a franchise to market for sale overseas

None of which bears any relevence to us old skool types just as we dont to her

I like the way she's leveraging synergies to add value to the bottom line. Because that's KEY
